Year 8 have been getting creative in French!
Year 8 recently completed a unit where they described them self, family and friends. As part of this, some of the classes got creative, and a little poetic, describing themselves by means of a “Chinese Portrait”…in French! In every line of the” Portrait Chinois” pupils use the phrases “Si j’étais …je serais” which means “If I were …I would be…” Here’s a taste of what we did by Grace.
“C’est Mardi Gras!”
With Shrove Tuesday (Mardi Gras) on the horizon (Tuesday 28th February) the MFL department wish to challenge the children to make “crêpes” at home, using the French recipe on Linguascope. Log into Linguascope (all the children know the log in details) and follow the the link below:
Beginner section (French) => en plus => Recettes => Crêpes
Children are invited to take a picture of themselves making the crêpes (they could even dress up in a French theme) then print them off and bring them to Madame Baker-Smith – there will be a small prize for the best photo! Bonne Chance et Bon Appétit!
