East Dorset Year 5 East Dorset Kwik Cricket Champions
I am delighted to announce that our Year 5 pupils won the competition hosted here at Ferndown in the blistering June heat. It was certainly a massive achievement where we beat Allenbourn and St Michaels in close matches where our bowling had to be accurate and had to hold our catches at the correct time. We also defeated West Moors and Lockyers where our batting was dominant and overall we were deserving winners of the competition. All pupils should be very proud of their achievement and they were an absolute pleasure all afternoon.

Under 11 Hardball Cricket
In an exciting match v Allenbourn our boys managed to gain a deserved victory in a tense match that went to the final three balls. In this form of cricket you bat in pairs and get minus five runs every time you get out. We scored 224/5. We bowled superbly and took some great wickets and catches. In the final over Allenbourn were 223/7 but we managed to take two wickets in Joseph’s over to ensure a fantastic victory where they finished 217/8. This match was exactly what school cricket should be about; excitement to the finish. Excellent play lads!

Year 6 Quad Kids Athletics
Our Year 6 pupils entered this enduring event where they have to each perform a throw, long jump, a 75m and a 600m. Our Year 6 team worked fantastically well in windy conditions and all pupils competed to the best of their abilities.

Year 5&6 East Dorset Athletics at Kings Park
On the hottest day in June for 41 years our pupils competed with determination beyond their years at Kings Park. Pupils competed in the 75m, 150m, 600m, long jump. High jump, throw and relay to the best of their abilities. We had many top 3 finishes including Nathi, Ellie, Xavier, Josh, Alfie and Finn. Reece won the long jump and Yve won the 150m. All these pupils qualified to represent the East Dorset team in the county championships. All pupils produced excellent work and we finished overall in 5th place out of the 12 schools.  We must say a massive thanks to our own Mrs Turner who organises this huge event for all of the East Dorset Schools.

Year 7 & 8 East Dorset School Games Girls Cricket at Wimborne Cricket Club
Our Year 7 & 8 Girls produced some truly magnificent performances during this afternoon of cricket where they played four matches. We beat both teams from Lytchett and Allenbourn with some fantastic cricket. We bowled accurately and hit some beautiful fours and sixes in our batting. We set up a final shoot out v St Michaels and unfortunately we narrowly lost but all girls were an absolute credit to our school in their determination and character. We ended up finishing as East Dorset Runners-Up!
