Year 8 students were lucky enough to attend a Farm to Fork session at Tesco’s with Beth Rose and Petra Butt. Students learnt about different forms of energy. They looked at an athletes diet and what they need to stay healthy.
They then looked at the nutritional value of tinned fruit, cereals and frozen foods and compared the amount of carbohydrates, proteins and sugars per 100g. They made their own fruit water and a fruit kebab. They also understood how protein and diary foods could benefit their bodies.
We talked about why colourful fresh foods are so valuable to our bodies. All students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and also their free goodie bags.
