We are proud to be able to share our incredible successes with you and hope you are able join us in congratulating all of the children that have been involved in representing the school. A special thank you must go to Mr Kinsey, Mrs Turner and Miss Demonte for the time and energy they have put in to organising and managing our wonderful teams.

Year 6 Boys PEDSSA Cup Final
On Wednesday our 6 boys football team played Oakdale Junior School in the final of the PEDSSA cup. The boys have worked tirelessly this season, showing relentless commitment to training  and a true team spirit. Despite losing in the final, the boys should be genuinely proud of their achievements this year. They clearly have a bright and promising future ahead, particularly if they continue to work so hard and demonstrate such a willingness to learn. Well done to all of the boys involved.

Everyone at FMS would like to say a huge congratulations to Reece in year 6 who represented Dorset’s Under 11 football team at the DANONE Nations Cup 7-a-side tournament at Keynsham on Saturday.  The boys won their final 2-0, making them South West Champions! Reece and the team will be going to the National Finals on May 19th which will be held at either the Ricoh Arena, Coventry or Hillsborough, Sheffield. We would like to wish Reece the very best of luck at the National Finals. We are all extremely proud of your achievements. Go for it Reece!

Year 7 and 8 Girls PEDSSA Cup Semi-Final
On Wednesday our year 7 and 8 girls football team faced Lockyers Middle School in the semi-finals of the PEDSSA cup. After a bright start, the girls took an early lead but Lockyers fought to get themselves back in the game. Ferndown went in to half time losing 2-1. After a passionate half time team talk, the girls came back with renewed energy, scoring a staggering 3 goals in the second half to ensure they took the victory. Well done to this magnificent team on their 4-2 win. A special mention to our year 7 girls who stepped in to play at the last minute and to Ellise for playing out of position in goal. You highlight what true team spirit is about.

Year 8 Boys PEDSSA Cup Final
In the space of a week the year 8 boys football team won their semi-final against St Edwards 5-3, to qualify for the final of the PEDSSA Cup. The team were 2-0 at half time but showed great character and performance in the second half to win the game and set up a tie against Cranborne Middle School.

The final was held at Poole Grammar School on Thursday. After a slow and nervy start, Ferndown took the lead with a fantastic goal by Wesley straight from a corner kick. They led 1-0 at half time. In the second half Ferndown’s hard work, resilience and determination created an opportunity to push forward and extend their lead with a goal from Aiden. As Cranborne pressed to get back in the game, Ferndown took advantage and counter attacked, further extending their lead with two great goals, one from Captain Alfie and the other from Ryan.

After being unsuccessful in their previous three consecutive finals. This was a fitting end to the season for our year 8 team, who have shown so much comitttment and passion to their football over their years at Ferndown Middle. Well done boys, we are so proud of each and everyone one of you.
