Year 6 Boys Football
Ferndown Middle School’s Year 6 footballers took to the pitch on Thursday afternoon, which proved to be an eventful and exciting football match between the two schools. Ferndown Middle showed a serious amount of attacking prowess in the first half by scoring three goals and only letting in one goal in the proceedings. It was looking to be Ferndowns match, however, St Marys fought back with an impressive style of football to level the match at the end. Then an anxious silence came about from both sides when a penalty shootout was called from the match referee. Ferndown were first up to take the penalty. Oscar walked up to take the penalty, placed the ball down on the white spot, walked back to his mark imagining 50,000 people watching him. They took a deep breath and gave the keeper a serious stare and ran in to take his shot. He hit it sweetly to send it past the keeper into the net. Josh was next up to take the penalty with the score 1-1. He delivered a sweet strike to take the lead 2-1. After that, St Marys proved to hold their nerve by winning the Penalty Shoot-out 3-2. Fantastic performance from both sides and a great finish to a Thursday afternoon.

Cross Country at Canford School
A group of our students from years 6,7 and 8 took part in one of the biggest cross country events in Dorset on the 8th November 2018. We had 5 individuals that gave it their all in running a mile around Canford school fields and woodlands. Each age group there were nearly 50 boys and girls running and our students took great pride in their finishing positions. They showed great enthusiasm and support towards one another when each one took part in their races. Well done to all of the students involved.
