Geography is, quite simply, about the world in which we live. There is so much more to this subject than just maps and globes! Wherever we find ourselves going in life, each place has a story, and this is because of the people who live there, and the physical features of the surrounding area. Geography teaches us about the environment and atmosphere surrounding us, as well as the resources which are available in each unique place. It changes constantly, as we are faced with new challenges regarding population, politics, resources and environmental change.
Whilst studying geography at Ferndown Middle School, each child can investigate a wide range of different places, as well as the people who can be found there. They will be taught to recognise the patterns which can be identified across the globe. We want the children to feel a sense of amazement at the world that we live in, and leave desperate to explore more of it.
