Year 5 and 6 Athletics
Our pupils from Year 5 and 6 entered the School Games Quad Kids Athletics Competition hosted at Ferndown Upper School. In this event all pupils compete in the 75m sprint, the 600m, a throw and a standing long jump. This is a fantastic event because it allows the pupils to test themselves at a variety of athletic disciplines and push themselves to the limit. Special mention to our Year 5’s who competed a year up in their first athletics event. Brilliant effort pupils.
Year 8 Mixed Rounders
On Tuesday our year 8 mixed rounders team stormed to victory against St Edwards. Having opted to field first, the team were able to keep their opponents score to just 3 rounders, showing excellent organisation and communication in doing so. They then went on to score 6 rounders! A special mention must go to Dominic for his superb batting! Well done to the team on continuing their unbeaten run.
Year 7 Cricket
Our Year 7 cricket team hosted St Osmunds in the County Cup. Luck was not on our side with the weather as this was going to be the second time this match was going to be called off due to the pouring rain. Thankfully Mr Hayter at Ferndown Upper allowed us to use their facilities at short notice to get the fixture played indoors. We batted first and made 57/6! We started our defence of that total extremely well where Will took a few wickets. The match went right to the end and unfortunately we couldn’t defend the total and St Osmunds got 58/6. A gallant effort and special thanks should be made to Molly, Tegan and Shannon who stepped in to play.
