Project week in year 5 this year was fully packed and busy, as usual! The children all enjoyed coming into school on Monday and Tuesday in their fabulous Greek costumes, which helped set the scene when taking part in ‘Play in a Day’, which was run by Ben Lindsay from Treehouse Theatre. This is an incredible event where all 142 of our children were able to participate in a play, which the rest of the year group watched. The children reported that they thoroughly enjoyed the day and have already asked if treehouse theatre can come back again!
After all of the excitement of Monday, Tuesday was similarly jam-packed as we held a massive Greek Olympic event on the school field, which was run by Miss Miller with the support of Mrs Turner and the rest of the year 5 team. The children took part in 5 ancient events, including long jump and discus, and were all scored on their performance. We are delighted to announce that our two winning Olympic athletes were Maddy in 5MN and Xavier in 5LC, with team Eros scoring best overall. Well done! Our Greek food tasting also proved extremely popular, with many of the children discovering new food which they said they were going to ask their parents to buy at the next big food shop.
