Year 7 and 8 Boys Cricket
Our boys played Gillingham away in the Quarter Finals of the Dorset Cup. We won the toss and elected to bat and we bowled extremely well, where Jack put in a man of the match performance taking three wickets. Will, Stephen and Connor picked up a wicket each. However Gillingham were strong batters and they got 123/6. It left us a mountain to climb and we eventually lost the match. Harry batted well and the opposition took some outstanding wickets. This was a worthwhile experience and the boys represented the school extremely well!
Year 7 and 8 Girls Cricket
Our Year 7&8 Girls entered the cricket competition hosted at Wimborne Cricket Club. We played five matches and won 4 out of 5 to finish the day as runners up. A fantastic achievement and the girls were so close to eventually winning. There is some fantastic talent in the school and if any girls are interested in joining an outside cricket club see the PE Department for more information.
Year 6 Boys Kwik Cricket
Our Year 6 boys Kwik Cricket side entered the East Dorset Schools Championships kindly hosted at Wimborne Cricket Club and I am delighted to announce that we were victorious through winning all five matches, therefore becoming East Dorset Champions. We started with a closely fought one run victory against the eventual runners up St Michaels and produced solid performances against Cranborne, Lytchett, Allenbourn and West Moors in extremely hot conditions. We produced some moments of magic in the field with some excellent catches and superb bowling. We also demonstrated attacking batting with some powerful shots and aggressive running between the wickets. Excellent result lads and remember to train hard for the Dorset Schools Finals.
