Year 8 Girls Netball
On Tuesday, our year 8 netball team played their first League match of the season against St Edwards. The girls got off to magnificent start, convincingly beating their opponents 17-2. Well done to all of the girls involved who showed tremendous team spirit and determination. a special mention must go to our shooters Chloe and Alice for their consistency throughout the game. Well done girls!

Year 7 & 8 Indoor Cricket
Ferndown Upper School kindly hosted the regional indoor cricket festival between ourselves, Winton and Lockyers. The team played fantastically well and beat Lockyers and unfortunately lost to the eventual winners Winton. The pupils worked hard all afternoon and this competition wets the appetite for the outdoor season that will be here before we know it. Joe and Connor should be congratulated for their captaincy and organisation.

Year 7 Boys PEDSSA Indoor Football Competition
Our Year 7 boys participated in the indoor football competition at Canford School. We started strongly and beat St Michaels 2-1. We lost matches against Lockers and Cranborne which meant qualification would be difficult if we did not win our final two group matches. We beat Allenbourn 4-2 and Lytchett 4-1 and managed to qualify for the semi-finals. Here we beat the Magna 4-1 with an excellent performance.

In the final we met Poole Grammar and we found ourselves 2-0 down. Our boys really upped their game and rediscovered their energy levels to score a goal and really bombard the Grammar goal with a number of shots. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the equaliser and we lost 2-1. The boys were understandably disappointed but the passion and pride they had for representing Ferndown Middle was evident. The boys need to be proud of their silver medal because I certainly am and thoroughly enjoyed watching their performances in the competition.
