Year 8 Netball
Huge congratulations to our year 8 netball team who had two superb results on Tuesday evening. They convincingly beat Broadstone 10 – 5 before going to win 7-0 against Parkstone. It was particularly pleasing to see the girls take on board the feedback they revived after the previous week’s loss. Well done girls.
On Thursday our year 7 netball team had their first win of the season. A tremendous team effort led them to a 2-0 victory against Purbeck. A special mention must got to Hannah who stepped in to play at the last minute and was a credit to the team. Well done girls – a deserved victory!
Year 6 & 7 Girls National Cup v Oasis Academy, Southampton
Our girls travelled to Southampton on a Friday evening to finish the week with an excellent football match. Our girls worked tirelessly and could only manage one goal in a 1-1 draw. The match went to a penalty shootout and we had sudden death opportunities to win but in the end we lost 2-1. The experience was fantastic to travel to play in a different region and the girls were extremely unlucky not to win the match in full time. As ever it was a pleasure to take these girls who represented Ferndown Middle School with pride.
Year 7 Boys Dorset Cup Quarter Final v Colfox School, Bridport
In another long journey our boys travelled to Bridport to play their Quarter Final in cold conditions. Unfortunately our journey in the competition ended here with a comfortable victory for our opponents. It was only our first defeat of the season and our boys need to have the drive, passion and focus in our remaining matches to enable future success.
