Year 6 & 7 Girls County Cup v St Peters
In our second group match we hosted St Peters in windy conditions here at Ferndown and what was impressive that both teams tried to play a passing game of football. Our girls played superbly well and kept organised throughout. Goals from Lily (2), Megan and Nathi gave us a 4-0 victory. This has ensured we have qualified for the Quarter Finals as we have won both of our group matches. All girls contributed, especially Chloe in midfield who kept linking play between defence and attack. Fantastic play girls and keep up the good work through the season.

Year 8 Boys County Cup v Grange
In our first cup match of the season we played The Grange in an eagerly awaited tie at home. As ever you never know what our opposition will be like so it was essential that we got off to a solid start. We started exceptionally well and our back four of Harrison, Kristian, Will and George put some early tackles in to keep the ball from Harry in goal. Alfie and Edison managed to link defence and attack and soon set up chances for Connor and Tom. In fact both scored fantastic first half hat-tricks. We were playing some free flowing football and Ryan and Wesley were causing havoc on both wings. In the second half Hannah, Jude and Harrison came on to add extra strength to our play. Harrison scored a goal with his first touch and Will followed that with a thirty yard screamer in the top corner. The celebrations were superb and it was pleasing to see the support for each other. It was not all one way and Harry made three brave one on one saves to enable us to keep a clean sheet in our 8-0 victory. Finally Hannah was superb in her first match for the boys’ team and she certainly added skill, guile and presence to our play. It really is a pleasure working with this group of players and watching them in full swing makes me ever so proud being part of it.
