Ferndown Middle School welcomed Joffre White yesterday as he came to visit Years 7 and 8. Joffre White is a published author who is passionate about children developing a love of reading. After a very entertaining presentation for both years, he ran two workshops in the library, where he shared his ideas about imagination and curiosity, and gave us all some effective tips on creating a character in our mind’s eye before trying to describe them in our own stories. It was a great morning of enrichment that will hopefully help with writing our BBC 500 Words entries for the national competition, which is linked to our termly Extra Mile Challenge on this occasion.
