Netball
We took our Year 5 and 6 netball team to Allenbourn for a friendly festival. This gave the pupils the opportunity to compete against schools and put into practise their work from training. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves and enjoyed the experience. Their knowledge of the game was fantastic and managed to pick up many victories from the festival.

February Sports Report - 05.02.16 2Year 7 Girls Football
We played Highcliffe in the Year 7 County Cup, although we lost we had opportunities to score and on another day we may have scored two or three. Chloe was superb in her first 9 aside match and Jenny was determined as ever showing bravery on the field of play. However Kimberley should be extremely proud of her triple save late in the game.

Year 6 Boys Football
Our Year 6 boys unfortunately went out in the Quarter Finals of the PEDSSA Football Cup to Baden Powell. Although we looked promising at 1-0, we eventually lost 3-1. Unlucky lads – keep working hard and I am sure you will get the success you deserve.

Year 8 Boys Football
We played our Year 8 Poole and East Dorset Cup match against St Edwards in windy conditions here at Ferndown. We are delighted to announce that the lad produced a superb performance in winning 5-0. Goals from Baily (3), Danny and Dominic enabled us a safe passage through to the next round of the cup. Excellent work lads.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAYear 8 Girls Netball
On Tuesday, our year 8 netball team competed in the annual PEDSSA tournament. They had a hugely successful afternoon. In the group stages, they had a tough start against eventual tournament winners Dumpton, losing 7-1. They then went on to comfortably beat Emmanuel 7-0, and St Michaels 7-2. A challenging match against Parkstone followed where the girls were unfortunately beaten 6-2. They didn’t let this dampen their spirits and showed true determination in beating Swanage 12-0! A fantastic comeback. These results meant that they finished 3rd in their group so faced Poole High in the play off for 5th place. To their credit, the girls remained motivated and focused, convincingly beating Poole 6-2 to take 5th place out of 12 schools. This is a huge achievement for the girls, who finished 12th last year and shows how much progress they have made through their commitment and hard work. Well done girls you have made all of us at Ferndown Middle so proud!
