Year 8 Girls Football
The Year 7 & 8 Girls entered the AFC Bournemouth competition at Christchurch and produced four excellent matches. We won 1, drew 2 and lost 1 and went out of the competition by one goal. Tegan scored some brilliant goals, Jasmine produced super saves some and Abbie worked tirelessly all day. The girls have made fantastic progress and to compete against some experienced schools is a testament of how far they have come.
Year 8 Girls Netball
On Tuesday our year 8 netball team played their final two matches of the league campaign. They started extremely positively against Poole High, winning by a staggering 19-0! Next up, they faced Parkstone in what turned out to be an extremely close game. At half time, they were trailing behind by 3 goals to 2 despite a tremendous amount of effort from the girls. Determined to finish the season on a high, each and every player worked tirelessly to bring the game back to 3-3, before going on to win 5-3. This close victory meant that the girls finished as league winners, a huge achievement. A massive well done to this fantastic team who have spurred each other on throughout the season, shown the upmost dedication to training and consequently not lost a single game. Deserved league winners!
Year 5 Girls Football
We hosted the Year 5 Girls football competition and played Lockyers, St Michaels, Baden Powell and Cranborne. I was delighted with the performance of our girls and that we had the numbers to field 2 sides. Overall our orange side finished 2nd and our red side finished 4th. Fantastic effort in cold and wet conditions.
Year 7 and 8 Girls Netball
On Friday our year 7 and 8 netball teams invited St Michaels to FMS for their latest fixtures. Each team played three games in tough conditions. Despite the snow, both year 7 and 8 played superbly. Year 7 won two matches and lost one whilst year 8 lost two matches but won their final game. A fantastic afternoon of netball. Well done girls.
