Year 8 Girls Rounders
On Thursday our year 8 girls rounders team continued their good form in the league. First of all they played Highcliffe, narrowly beating them with a 3.5 to 3 victory. The girl’s fielding in particular was superb and certainly played a big part in preventing the opposing team from scoring too many rounders. A special mention must go to Abbie for her outstanding catch at second base. Next they played Bournemouth School for Girls who were a very experienced side. Despite our team’s best efforts, BSG batted superbly and went on to take the victory 7.5 to 2. All of the girls who played should be extremely proud of their performance on Thursday. Well done team!

Year 8 Boys Cricket
Our Year 8 Boys played in the County Cup away in sunny conditions at Purbeck. We were put into bat and made 107 in our 20 overs. Congratulations to Harry who made 23 and batted for 18 overs. He batted with a mixture of defence (which was needed on a pitch that had no bounce) and aggressive when needed. We took to the field and the bowlers were extremely accurate and we managed to bowl them out for 39. Tom bowled extremely fast in his spell picking up 2 wickets in the first over and this continued. We held onto some great catches, Harry was lively as the wicket keeper and William bowled the winning wicket. Excellent work lads!

May Sports Report 06.05.16 2Year 8 Girls and Mixed Rounders
On Tuesday evening our year 8 girls and mixed rounders teams played The Bishop of Winchester in the league. Both teams showed tremendous focus and team spirit, taking the victory in each of the games. Our girls team played first, winning 6-2 followed by our mixed team who won by 5.5 rounders to 1.5. A special mention must go to Olivia, Melissa, Joshua and Harrison who stepped in at the last minute to represent the school in their first ever rounders matches. A huge well done to both teams.
