Year 7 Netball
A huge well done to our marvellous year 7 netball team. Having waited a staggering 5 weeks to play their first league game of the season, the girls finally managed to overcome the recent wind, rain and snow and make it to Parkstone Grammar School to take on the hosts, Parkstone, as well as Allenbourne Middle School. The girls demonstrated tremendous team spirit, working tirelessly throughout their two matches; encouraging one another along the way. Despite losing both games, the girls should be proud of their overall performance with many outstanding interceptions and passages of attacking play. A special mention must go to Chloe for her wonderful goal! Well done girls.

Year 8 Netball
Congratulations to our magnificent year 8 netball team who claimed victory in their final three league games of the season on Thursday evening. The girl’s season long dedication to training paid off and they got off to a flying start with a staggering 11-0 win over Cranborne. Next up, they faced St Edwards in what proved to be a closer game, however, they managed to keep another impressive clean sheet and take a 4-0 victory. Finally the girls faced a strong Broadstone team. They remained calm and focused throughout the game, comfortably winning 9-3.

This is undoubtedly a huge achievement for our girls and something to be extremely proud of. A special mention must go to our shooters, Leah and Ellise, for scoring a staggering 24 goals between them! Well done team, you have had a superb season in your final year at Ferndown Middle School.

Sport Relief at FMS
As part of this years ‘Step it Up’ for Sport Relief Campaign students at Ferndown Middle School will be taking part in a whole school challenge that will see the school community attempt to collectively run a circular route from Ferndown to all of the locations that will be visited as part of Project Week. These include: Bristol, Mill on the Brue, London and Moors Valley. In order to achieve this, the daily mile will take place every day at break time from Monday – Friday. In addition to this, every PE lesson over the course of the week will start with 15 golden minutes of running the daily mile. All individual miles will be added to the overall ‘school total’. The event will be organised and run by our magnificent year 8 Sports Leaders and is undoubtedly a very exciting challenge!
