Year 8 Netball
On Tuesday our year 8 netball team played their final league game of the season against league leaders Parkstone. Parkstone demonstrated confidence and skill, proving to be a very hard team to beat. Our girls showed real resilience, working extremely hard right up until the final whistle. Despite losing, they are feeling positive and determined to do their best as they go into the year 8 tournament on Thursday. Good luck girls.

The Year 6 football team took to the Littledown pitches on Friday 8th February 2019 for the finals day of the competition. The boys played two matches with the winners progressing through to represent Bournemouth at Wolverhampton stadium. The boys put 100% effort into both matches with horrible weather conditions of gale winds and a heavy downpour. They started off against Muscliffe who proved to be a very difficult side with two tremendous attackers having early shots on target but were kept out by our keeper with two sensational saves. The Ferndown side soon found there feet and played some good attacking football. Fast paced play proved difficult to defend for Muscliffe which led to our attack slotting one in the bottom left corner. Ferndown were 1-0 up with 2 minutes to spare to the end of the game. Muscliffe were not going to give up with a slight mix up in our defence led the attacker to break through to equalise. A fantastic start to the competition both teams played in high Spirit.

The second game proved to be very difficult with Broadstone leading from the front to score two early goals putting our lot under some great pressure. Broadstone proved still to be a great attacking side by scoring another great goal before half time. At the end of half time the score was 3-0 to Broadstone. The second half Ferndown found their feet and start to be disciplined and kept possession of the ball. However, Broadstone were still hungry for goals with scoring another great goal to make it 4-0. Ferndown didn’t give up and showed an amazing attitude leading them to score a good goal. At the close of play the score ended up 5-1 to Broadstone. Despite the boys’ hard efforts and work Broadstone were a great side and played in high spirit.  We finished runners up in the competition. Well done to our Year 6 side!
