Spring Interform
On Tuesday the 27th March our entire school community took part in our first ever Spring Interhouse Competition. Students opted to compete in either Rugby, Cross Country, Seated Volleyball, Swimming or Indoor Athletics, representing their tutor groups. It was a huge success, with all students embracing the spirit of the games, demonstrating enthusiasm, determination and team work. Each individual really was a credit to the school. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you for making the day so special. A big thank you to our year 8 sports leaders and year 7 helpers for the important role they played throughout the day; encouraging, organising and supporting the competitiors as well as to all of the members of staff who went above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly. Results will be announced in our end of term assembly!
Year 7 Netball
A huge well done to our year 7 netball team who competed in their second week of league fixtures on Tuesday evening. With another week of training under their belt, it was really pleasing to see progress being made. The girls demonstrated greater confidence and skill, managing to work together to score two goals! A really positive evening of netball; we look forward to the final league games of the season next week. Good luck girls.
Year 7 and 8 Rugby
After a really positive term of rugby, the final fixture of the year, saw the girls year 7&8 team play their first ever game against Allenbourn Middle School. With many of the year 7&8 team never having rugby played before Christmas, it was a great spectacle of how far the girls have come. Although there was a lot of nerves at the start, the girls rose to the occasion and competed well against a strong Allenbourn team. It was wonderful to witness the girls develop throughout the game. They demonstrated the key values of rugby showing great passion, enthusiasm, respect, discipline and sportsmanship.
