Netball
Well done to our year 7 netball team who played their final league game of the season on Tuesday evening. After just a few weeks of training it was so pleasing to see the progress that has been made. The girls had spells of really successful attacking play and worked particularly hard to defend together. Witnessing such a vast improvement in the girls performance made it disappointing to lose by just one goal to nil. However, the girls can take confidence from such a narrow defeat and look forward to building on the progress they have made next season.
To mark the end of what has been a wonderful netball season, all members of our school netball club participated in a tournament before attending our annual awards party. Millie kindly made cakes to celebrate the year 8’s final ever training session at FMS, before Mrs Burton and Mrs Turner presented the end of season awards. Congratulations to Mai who was awarded our year 7 ‘Most Improved Player’ of the season, Emily who was awarded our year 7 ‘Player of the Season’, Charlotte who was awarded our year 8 ‘Most Improved Player’ of the season and Tilly who was awarded our year 8 ‘Player of the Season’. Well done to all of the girls and boys who have committed their time to netball club this season.
The Big Pedal
Well done to all students, parents, staff and community friends who took on the challenge of The Big Pedal over the last two weeks. We are thrilled to announce that a staggering 62% of you walked, cycled or scooted to school; a tremendous achievement. We hope that this kick starts a summer of physical activity and fun.
