Year 6 Girls Football v St Ives
We hosted St Ives on the last day of half term and our girls performed fantastically well in an exciting match in the Ferndown sunshine. There was some super energy and, as the match progressed, the girls were gaining in confidence. Unfortunately, we conceded an early goal in each half and despite some great attacking play we could not find the deserved goal. The most pleasing aspect was that the St Ives teacher commented on how sporting our pupils were and that they took time to congratulate the St Ives players after the match. This is terrific sporting spirit and well played Year 6.
Year 6 Boys Football v St Ives
To end a busy afternoon, our Year 6 boys hosted St Ives and this was a great match, where it was certainly end-to-end. For some of our boys, it was their first ever football match and they soon gained in confidence as the match advanced. St Ives scored two quick goals, but we managed to score early in the second half to give us hope. Sadly, we could not grab a second and St Ives managed to be victorious.
Having had over 30 pupils (boys and girls) represent Year 6 over two days is extremely pleasing and it was an absolute pleasure to watch our pupils display such energy, enthusiasm and sporting ethic.
