Midday Supervisor

Contract type: Permanent, part-time
Pay range: Grade B, SP1 £10.50 per hour
Hours: 8 hours and 25 mins per week

To be worked across Monday to Friday 12.00 – 1.41

38 weeks per year, term time only

We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to join our friendly team to support the children for the lunchtime period during term time only.

Duties include setting up the school hall with tables and equipment, supervising the children during their break, in the hall, the classrooms and on the playground, and clearing the hall after lunch. There is some manual handling involved in setting up and clearing away the hall.

We strongly advise that you visit the school during a lunchtime service to help you understand the role.

Teaching Assistant

Contract type: Permanent
Pay range: Level 1: Grade C, £10.79 – £10.98 per hour

Level 2: Grade D, £11.18 to £11.39 per hour

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint committed and enthusiastic Level 1 or Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs to commence in September.  Experience of the following would be beneficial for the Level 2 Teaching Assistants – Speech and language and communication difficulties, ASD, ADHD and ODD (oppositional defiance disorder) and general learning difficulties.

The postholders will play an important role in supervising the activities of pupils during the teaching period and lunch & break time duty within the school, including both indoor and outdoor areas, ensuring a safe environment is maintained at all times. Experience of working with children in an education setting is preferred.

The successful applicant must be able to work as part of a team to support the learning and welfare of pupils in school.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and committed person to join our busy cleaning team who is responsible for the cleaning of the school premises.

The successful candidate will

  • Carry out the cleaning of the interior of the school to an agreed standard under the direction of the Caretaker.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and general hygiene of the school premises.
  • Support the site team with reactive cleaning, litter clearance and reporting issues to the site team.
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained in the cleaning store room.
  • Some flexibility may be required at busy times.

Minibus Driver

We are seeking to appoint minibus drivers yo drive to and from sporting fixtures and occasional other events for Ferndown Middle School.  On most occasions, this will happen in the afternoon and will entail driving to another school.  There will, however, be times when an earlier start and/or a later finish are required.

To drive a hired minibus in a responsible and competent manner, ensuring the safety of the passengers, other road users, members of the public and yourself at all times.

Casual, term time only contract.

£10.79 – £10.98 per hour depending on experience.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the Person Specification and will be subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and a health check.
