On Wednesday 3rd October, the whole of year 8 travelled to Bournemouth Pavilion to watch a performance of ‘Private Peaceful’, written by Michael Morpurgo.
Based on the story of a soldier during WW1, the novel is a text that students really enjoy reading, with lots of children finding it especially interesting to find out more about what life was like during this period of history.
The play was a bit different to the novel and one man told the entire story, performing different characters and using a variety of voices and costumes to bring the tale to life. It helped lots of students to visualise some aspects of the novel which will really help our studies.
The students really enjoyed their theatre experience and were a credit to the school, demonstrating excellent behaviour and a mature attitude throughout the duration of the trip. Well done year 8!
