Year 8 Rugby
On Wednesday 6th March the Year 8 rugby team competed gallantly in the PEDSSA 7-a-side tournament at Wimbourne Rugby club. In horrendous, wet conditions Ferndown played Allenborne, St Micheal’s and St Edwards schools, winning one and losing two. In all three games Ferndown continued to demonstrate great team work and support to go forward and a resilience and determination to defend. The development and improvement has been huge in a matter of weeks from all the boys. A huge well done.
Year 7 Rugby
On Monday 11th March the Year 7 rugby team competed in the Dorset Schools Rugby 7’s tournament at Canford School. With 16 schools attending, the tournament was run as a waterfall tournament. Ferndown performed heroically to win two games and lose one. With the competition very competitive, Ferndown’s performance was especially special and impressive as all bar two of the teams were playing their first competitive fixture.
Year 5 and 6 Rubgy
On Thursday 7th March 2019 a mixed squad of Year 5 and Year 6 boys took to Chapel Gate to take part in their first touch rugby festival. It was an amazing spectacle with 25 schools taking part with all schools playing 9 games of rugby. The boys were outstanding after only having a terms worth of rugby teaching and attending the lunch club on offer they put in 100% effort in all games finishing the festival with played 9 won 4 lost 5. The festival was greatly organised and the boys showed great teamwork, respect and sportsmanship throughout. Well Done!
