We have reached the end of our first week of competing in the Big Pedal, a national challenge that aims to inspire the school and wider community to get active on their way to school. Students, parents, carers, staff and friends have been walking, cycling, running and scooting to school; with tutors recording the number of active journeys made each day. We are pleased to report that more and more students have taken up the challenge as the week has gone on, with a record 76 students cycling, 35 scooting and a whopping 239 walking on Wednesday!
A special mention must go to the wonderful Mrs Cooper who has embraced the challenge and cycled for the first time in 10 years this week! Mrs Cooper has enjoyed her active journey to school so much that she has even purchased a new bike, with the aim of continuing to cycle when the challenge comes to end on the last day of term. Well done Mrs Cooper, you are an inspiration!
