Tennis Leader Training – Friday 3rd May 2019
On the 3rd May a selection of Year 8 students from Ferndown Middle School had the opportunity to attend a Tennis Leader Training held at Ferndown Tennis Club. This was for preparation for a Year 4 Tennis competition coming up. This was a fantastic opportunity for the year 8 students as they had the ability to learn about the game and umpire them. Every child that attended enjoyed the day and came away with the knowledge and understanding to umpire the game and play it. They represented the school with great attitude and dedication.

This year sees another year of Ferndown Upper schools Festival of Sport. This was an amazing success and a fantastic morning of sport. All year 7 children from Ferndown Middle School attended the Festival of Sport at Ferndown Upper School. They took part in a range of sports that they haven’t had the opportunity to do at Ferndown Middle School. These sports included Table Tennis, Basketball and Health Related Fitness in a Gym. The year 7s showed great sportsmanship, dedication and team work throughout all events. A huge thank you goes to Ferndown Upper School 6th form leaders and Physical Education staff for making it a successful day.

Kings Park Athletics Day – Tuesday 11th June 2019
Our Annual athletics day for Year 5 and 6 took place on Tuesday 11th June 2019. It was a fantastic day for all the athletes that took part with some of the athletes in their discipline progressing to the athletics county champions. A group of 40 from Ferndown Middle School took part in a selection of athletics events. In these events they represented the school in the highest order and showed great encouragement and sportsmanship to each other and other schools. The event was successful and Ferndown Middle School fought hard in each event. Well done to those athletes that have progressed to the County Championship. Ferndown Middle School wish you all the best of luck.

Quad Kids – Wednesday 5th June 2019
A selection of Year 5 and 6 athletes from Ferndown Middle School were selected to take part in the Quad Kids athletics competition that consisted of four events. These events were howler throw, standing long jump, 75m sprint and 600m. All of our athletes gave everything to compete against some strong athletes from different schools. They were fantastic throughout the afternoon all supporting each other and contributing to a great team performance. We finished 5th out of the five schools competing but some of our athletes came second in the standing long jump and howler throw a great all round performance considering there were some strong schools. Well done to Allenbourn who came first in the competition.
