NSPCC Daily Mile
Following weeks of rain that led to the cancellation of our visit from Parley and Ferndown First Schools as our daily mile guest runners for the month of June, we were delighted to get out in the sunshine on Tuesday and welcome parents, carers, family and friends from our local community to join us for our final guest run of the academic year.
A superb turn out from our visitors was made even more special by the fact that the run was extended to 15 minutes to enable those taking part to raise vital funds for The NSPCC. The charity supports children and young people and has recently taken the time to visit us to deliver workshops to all of our students on how to stay safe.
Everyone at FMS would like to say a huge thank you to those of you that joined us for this very special event, we hope to see you again next year. A special thank you to the School Council for getting this great idea of the ground.
Year 7 and 8 Athletics
On Monday 8th July our year 7 and 8 athletics team took part in the 2019 Town Sports event at Kings Park. Both boys and girls competed in track and field events against schools from across Poole and East Dorset. Despite competing in individual events, it was a real team effort. For a number of our year 8 students it was their final Kings Park event, having represented FMS in all 4 years since starting with us in year 5. A proud day for all involved, we await the results!
