On Monday 18th March we had the privilege of welcoming Jane Chapman; a highly successful children’s book illustrator and author. A select group of artistically talented pupils from year 7 and year 8 were involved in this fantastic Art enrichment day.
Pupils had been preparing for the day by developing there very own version of a mouse house. Inspiration came from ‘The Borrowers’ and ‘sylvanian families’. These highlight the great talent and enthusiasm that FMS pupils’ show in their arts.
To start the day pupils produced quick animal drawings, then looked at creating there own thumb nail drawings of there own mouse house creations from different angles. Finally they developed some amazing large charcoal drawings inserting a mouse in action.
We would like to thank Jane for her time and encouragement. It was a brilliant day which helped to inspire pupils to think outside of the box and develop new and improved skills.
