Trips and Visits
Each year in the month of May exciting residential and daily trips are organised for the Year 8 year group. The residential trips include a Monday to Friday camping adventure at a dedicated centre in Somerset, and a Tuesday to Thursday city experience in London visiting key historical sites, taking in two West End shows and visiting LegoLand. The daily trips programme takes in a local forestry commission site enjoying cycling and climbing on Monday, and Tuesday to Friday at a dedicated scout activity centre taking part in activities including abseiling, zip wire, shooting and archery. All places are offered via a ballot, and if all places are not taken up by year 8 pupils, remaining places are offered to year 7 via a ballot.
For Year 7 pupils and any other year groups remaining in school during Project Week, they will take part in A Moment in Time, which is held each day at FMS. This varied and stimulating schedule of activities will take place each day in school. The pupils take part in outdoor activities, art, environmental projects, food tech and we will be welcoming guest speakers, drama performances themed around the topic. The whole week is off timetable and non-school uniform.
Year 6 will be going to the incredible Eden Project in Cornwall for the first time in May 2020. It is a 3 day, 2 night trip offered to all year 6 pupils over 2 trips (Monday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Friday).
Year 5 visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyards for one day, and enjoy an exciting programme of Forest School and First Aid training, and an interesting talk from Waterwise on the importance of using water wisely and how it is treated.
