School Meals
From Monday 18th November …. we welcome Cleverchefs as our new caterers.
Ferndown Middle School partners with an award winning catering company, Cleverchefs, to provide its school meals under the brand ‘Whisked’.
Cleverchefs focus on providing amazing food, going that extra mile to give students a real “wow” factor in presentation and taste, whilst keeping recognisable food that can be of comfort.
Their ethos is about providing perfection as standard. This means that they promise to use the freshest local ingredients, cooked and served by dedicated professionals, whilst doing their very best to be sustainable in every area of their business.

The school runs a fully cashless catering system, parents are able to top up their children’s accounts securely online ParentMail. Children pre-order during morning registration including for the daily pasta bar or at the admin office if arriving late. The cost of a meal is £2.90 or free if your child is eligible for free school meals.
Children will also be able to purchase one of the following four drinks at a cost of £0.65 each:
- Viva milkshakes 200ml
- Radnor splash range 330ml
- Aqua apple juice/orange juice 200ml
- Springbourne Still water 500ml
Water is always available on the tables.

If your child requires a special diet, it’s really important that Clever Chefs capture fresh and up-to-date information in case anything has changed recently. Even if you have submitted this previously, you must provide this information using the attached form or using this link: https://forms.gle/8S5sYr1dFxaW7bBW6
Once the forms have been received, Clever Chefs will contact parents directly to obtain ideal choices, likes & dislikes, and then devise a menu that they will sign off prior to it being submitted to the school office and the kitchen for reference. Please note that without this information being completed the kitchen will not be able to provide food for your child if they need a special diet.

Free School Meals
If your child qualifies for free school meals, not only will they receive a healthy meal on every school day, they’ll also get,
- access to free holiday clubs through Dorset Council
- extra money for their school towards more teachers and activities
