A celebration of the skills and talent that Ferndown Middle School pupils’ possess.

Emily was working hard over the summer holiday to develop a beautiful portrait which I am sharing with you all. This is what Emily has to say about it:

‘I drew this at the start of the summer holidays. I wanted to improve my skills in drawing realistic people so I set my mind to it. I received some tips from YouTube. I spent about 4.5 hours on it and afterwards had to change some stuff. I’ve learnt new techniques (like using cotton buds to smudge) and I’ll work on improving it again and again until I’m happy with it. I’ll try doing different pictures and eventually build up my skills.’

I think you would all agree that this is a beautiful piece of work that Emily should be proud of and it highlights that with perseverance and determination you can achieve anything.
