October Sports Update #2

Year 6 Football
On Thursday 17th October our year 6 football team faced Emmanuel in the first round of the PEDSSA Area Cup. Both teams started strongly and played some good football, however, Ferndown found themselves two down just before half time. Straight after the break Ferndown got a goal back but as they pressed for the second were exposed and found themselves conceding again. With the score at 3-1 Ferndown continued to search for a goal but a well organised Emmanuel team took advantage of the extra space. Ferndown can take a lot of encouragement from how they played and approached the game and will next forward to their next game.
Year 6 Rugby
On Wednesday the 16th of October the year 6 rugby team competed in the Wimborne Tag to Tackle Festival. For some of the Ferndown team this was their first experience in a competitive fixture. However, they conducted themselves and played with spirit and showed significant improvement as the festival progressed. Well done to all those involved.
Year 7 Football
On Thursday the 10th October the year 7 football team faced a very strong and competitive Glenmoor and Winton Academy in the first round of the County Cup. Although lots of positives can be taken from the game, Ferndown unfortunately lost the fixture. There will be a lot more opportunity and matches after half term in the area competition.
