Isobel has been busy over the first half term developing her drawing skills. Her focus has been drawing real-life animals which I am sharing with you all.

This is what Isobel has to say about it:

‘Over the past few weeks I have been concentrating hard on drawing animals in more detail. The horse which I drew from my imagination, was the first of the three. I then moved onto the fox. I really struggled to get the shape of the nose right, I tried to draw it over and over again but it still didn’t work. It was only when I went away from it and did something completely different, that when I came back to it I managed to draw something I was happy with. I now find that this technique works when I am struggling to get it right. My final drawing was of a cat, it was difficult at first to get all the proportions right, so i used my technique again and it worked. Overall, from drawing these three pictures I have learned that the more you draw an animal the more you can familiarise yourself with its shape and as a result the more you will be able to draw it from memory.’

I think you would all agree that this is a beautiful piece of work that Isobel should be proud of and it highlights that with perseverance and determination you can achieve anything.
