Cross Country
On Thursday 7th November 2019, 14 Ferndown Middle School pupils took part in a cross country event at Baiter. The weather conditions were brutal and the ground was flooded with water and wet mud. The pupils were amazing throughout the event showing great character and determination to race through the harshest conditions. They had soaking wet feet, mud up their backs and were freezing. They never complained and saw the funny side of every encounter. Some students finished between positions 20-40 of the race, which was great considering the conditions they were running through. Well done to each individual who took part in this event.
Year 6 Football
On Wednesday 23rd October, the year 6 football team travelled to Baden Powell School for their second group game in the PEDSSA Area cup. After losing to Emmanuel, FMS had to win to progress in the competition. After a nervy start by both teams, Ferndown began to take control with a string of attacks. However, it was only some fine goalkeeping from the Baden Powell goalie that keep the score level. Ferndown started the second half in control, but were still struggling to score. However, with 10 minutes to go Ferndown broke the deadlock with a “wonder goal” to take the lead. Ferndown were made to work hard for the remainder of the match, but some great defending and assured goalkeeping ensured they didn’t concede to win the game one nil.
