Year 6 Girls Football
On Tuesday 12th November the year 6 girls football team represented FMS in the PEDSSA area 7 a side tournament. On a cold, wet, soggy day the girls were fantastic in terms of their performance, team spirit and sportswomanship to finish the tournament in third place (out of six teams) to narrowly miss out on qualification for the County tournament.
Year 6 Boys Football
On Thursday 14th November our year 6 boys football team played their first round match of the County Cup against Christchurch Junior School. After a competitive first half performance, where both teams had chances the score was 0-0. However, early in the second half Christchurch took advantage of a mistake by FMS to take the lead. Although FMS continued to attack, a goal became elusive and Christchurch proceeded to counter attack to find themselves 3-0 up. Ferndown did get a well deserved goal towards the end of the game but by this point their wonderful efforts were in vein. Well done to all those involved.
On Friday 15th November our year 6 boys football team competed in the PEDSSA area 7-a-side tournament. In a very strong, competitive tournament the year 6 team played with determination, commitment and flair to finish the tournament joint top with Allenbourne but narrowly missing out on the top spot on goal difference. Throughout the afternoon FMS won four, drew one and lost one. Credit to all the boys involved and good luck in the County Finals in mid December.
