Irish Dancing Delight

Posted on 31/03/2021

During Lockdown, at the beginning of March, Phoebe (5SG), Kerry and Ella (both from 5KH),  took part in a virtual Irish Dancing Competition (traditionally called a `Feis`). This was the biggest competition the girls have ever danced in, with children dancing from America, England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales taking part. The children danced in age categories and dance ability. There were around 1,200 entrants.
Phoebe managed to ‘wow’ all! She achieved two first place prizes and one second place prize. Phoebe explained that the result was totally unexpected as there were so many children involved. To come first was amazing but then to hear her name called out for first place again and followed by a second place was unbelievable. All her hard work, dedication and practise paid off!
The girls dance teacher explained that she was very proud of Phoebe, Kerry and Ella for their achievements in dancing.
Well done, girls! From all of the staff at Ferndown Middle.
