On Thursday this week, The Royal Armouries held an online event for our Year 5’s. They were introduced to Leonidas (a Spartan Warrior), who trained them in the skills they would need to be in the Spartan Army. The children practised their war cries, their battle skills and were taught about life in Sparta. They were very excited to learn that children were taught to be warriors, instead of going to school.
After their training, they met the Oracle, who told them the myth of Perseus and Medusa.
The event was a huge success and all the Year 5’s were ‘buzzing’ with excitement afterwards.
