Year 6 Football vs St Ives
Year 6 played the first game of the year against St Ives in the PEDSSA Cup. They all showed great team work and spirit to battle against a very strong St Ives team. Despite losing 6-0 there is still hope of progressing with games to come shortly after half term.
Year 6 Rugby Tournament
On Wednesday the year 6 Rugby team competed in a Tag to Tackle Festival at Wimborne Rugby Club. Ferndown’s first game was against a very strong Allenbourne A side with some experienced club players, however, a try towards the end of the game gave the Ferndown team a lot of confidence (4-1). In their second game, their confidence grew to draw 2-2 with West Moors A team. In the third game Ferndown were leading throughout the game up until the last two minutes, to concede two late trys against Allenbourne B side (4-3). This set up a final game against West Moors B team and Ferndown finished the Festival on a high and won their final game 3-1.
After the Festival commenced the organisers at Wimborne RFC ran a preparation to tackle workshop and then the teams enjoyed sausage and chips in the clubhouse. Well done to all of the boys involved. Don’t forget that training continues on Tuesday lunchtimes after half term for ALL year 5 and 6 students.
Year 8 Football vs St Peter’s
On Thursday a depleted year 8 football team lost a very close and competitive game 3-2 against St Peter’s in the first round of the County Cup. Although it was disappointing to lose the spirit and resilience gives the team great hope for the forthcoming PEDSSA competition.
