Year 8 Cycling at Moors Valley
On Wednesday, a group of year 8 students attended a cycling event at Moors Valley that had been organised by British Cycling. Our students were given the opportunity to compete in a time trial around the challenging off-road course, before entering into relay style team races. All competitors were then divided into 6 teams, meaning that students from St Edwards and Ferndown Middle worked alongside one another. There was a wonderful atmosphere amongst all of the students and it was a joy to see them showing such genuine support for one another. There was also some very impressive cycling on the day with fast lap times recorded – well done to each of the students involved!
Tennis Leader Training
On the 3rd May a selection of Year 8 students from Ferndown Middle School had the opportunity to attend a Tennis Leader Training held at Ferndown Tennis Club. This was for preparation for a Year 4 Tennis competition coming up. This was a fantastic opportunity for the year 8 students as they had the ability to learn about the game and umpire them. Every child that attended enjoyed the day and came away with the knowledge and understanding to umpire the game and play it.
