Last year our school were winners of the ‘No more cabbage’ STEM competition run by CLEAPSS. This year, Mrs Kiernan and Miss Owen were invited to help judge the National CLEAPSS 2019 Jazzing up Junk STEM competition.
Members of the science organisations PSTT, SciChem, ASE and CLEAPSS joined us to judge the entries from schools across the nation and even from Cyprus.
It was a pleasure to work with these specialists. Judging the competition is taken really seriously, as the children and teachers who submitted the ideas work very hard. The ideas were varied and inspirational which made the final judgements difficult.
Jason from CLEAPSS commented that having judges from across education on the judging panel was of paramount importance to them. Having our professional input meant that the judging process really was very vigorous and valid.
